Hey everyone, I just heard that Ikobo is no longer going to be taking payment for anything that is adult in nature. Does anyone know if this is true or not? I'm trying to help out a friend of mine and that was the place I recommended to him. With so much money being turned over in the adult field, I don't understand why there is so much hesitance on running it through. Anyone have feedback on this issue?

I know, it's strange more and more companies are really trying to avoid it. A lot of people say it's because of the conservative government in the US, but others think it's just the risks involved.

Anyway epassporte now does a similiar service and they are pretty pro-adult, you get there support people hanging out on some of the adult webmaster forums too.

Hope that helps.

Hi Tony, thanks so much for the information. I guess I don't understand what sort of risks there would be, I know there are things like charge backs, etc. but there is just SO MUCH money to be made in the adult field you'd think everyone would be jumping on the ban wagon.

On the payment center you suggested, do they do checks as well or is it all just credit card transactions? I know my friend is looking for someone that handles both and something that is as user friendly as PayPal. It's a shame they won't do adult trading. Especially when they sell pornographic items on their site, that doesn't make any sense to me.

Someone needs to take a chance on the adult market and start catering to some of the needs. But where do we find that?

hey gerry, the only places i've heard of is moneybookers, or something like that and then there is a place called my virtual card. but i think they only do credit card stuff, i'm not sure. never checked them out personally but i read a lot of stuff on boards, and i do remember seeing those names.

i hope that helps or at least gives you some areas to check out. be cool everyone!

Epassporte is more a money transfer sort of place. If you are looking to accept payments for adult transactions then the way to go would be ccbill.com.

Whatever you do don't touch "ibill.com" which has serious legal issues that mean they have no money to pay anybody.

Thanks Tony for the information, I'll definitely pass it along. I guess I never really thought about having issues with that, I've bought a ton of things via the internet, but you just click on the link and away you go, never thought about it being such a problem trying to get hooked up with a company.

Nice to know about the one place having those financial issues, I'll have my friend steer clear of there for sure. I use Paypal for most everything I do, but I buy stuff from Ebay, non adult items so have never had a problem, and it's so easy I can even figure it out!

one thing you have to think about is safety, what about western union or a post office box to take check only payments. That would be rough for ones wanting to pay by credit cards though

I thought Western Union was a little outdated? Do places still take western union payments? I guess that is a thought. As for a PO box, you'd all most want to get one in the next town, you don't want anyone to know the exact place that you live.

Once they find your town, most people are known by a few and it wouldn't take long to track down your house.

Hey, has everyone heard that Google is going to start doing payment transactions? I read it on the internet and it sounds like it's going to be a pretty good deal.

I bet they'll be user friendly, I like reading the Google group postings too.

Yes, I've heard from quite a few places that they are suppose to be operational before much longer. They are suppose to be set up really similar to PayPal, and that is a very easy service to use. We need a good place that doesn't have so many stipulations. Google is really branching out and growing aren't they? I'll definitely sign up when they are up and running, I've gotten a little tired of PayPal's antics.

hey everyone! i've herd about that 2, and they are going to do adult stuff, no turning anyone away.

how cool is that?

i've had some friends in the business that had their accts. blocked for doing adult stuff, taking all their money from there. not right in my book!

in pay pal that is.

google will probably be over loaded with people wanting to sign up.

Hey Susie, I always thought they sold items of adult nature on paypal?

how could they lock up your account if they sell the products through their auctions?

i'm not sure what they sell on ebay anymore
i haven't been on that site forever.

might be fun to check it out.

sort of bad business to sell the stuff but not allow your #1 payment processor to process it.

What do you do about companies selling off customer information to other websites without informing the customer that is being done. Or better yet knowing customer information was stolen form the company and trying to hide it from the customers they serve. Wouldnt mind a few thoughts about this.

Not a lot of justice in that is there? I remember someone on here mentioning that there are no real laws regulating anything on the internet as of yet, so people just take what they want when they want it. Sounds like you've been a victim of it for sure.
